Magic is about what you make it

And belief is a choice.
Magic is about what you make it

So often, people argue that magic and witchcraft aren’t real or are evil. It’s either true but bad or just fiction. I’m here to tell you that it’s exactly what you make it. It’s real if you believe in it, and it’s not real if you can’t see it. I firmly believe that people who don’t believe in magic are making themselves not see it.

So yes, I’m biased, I do believe in the unknown and in witchcraft. I’m not an atheist. But just like theists, atheists make themselves.

“Just like theists, atheists make themselves!”

Because I think believing and not believing are both choices we make. I have chosen to believe in magic, either for personal development or for spiritual advancement. I see too much benefit to deny it in my life. I also see too much evidence to just dismiss it as fiction, both in my own experience and in stories I’ve heard.

Is intention really everything, though?

Well… In ethics and in life generally, it’s not. You can do hurtful things without having the intention to hurt people. Just look at so many religious people who use their religious views to take people's rights away! However, in witchcraft and magic making, I think intention is everything.

Everything is magic if you allow it

Even eating or drinking or tidying up can be magic. The smallest of things can be a domino effect on something else. You don’t need complex rituals to be a witch. I’m not doing magic every day!

“You don’t need complex rituals to be a witch.”

You just need to do things with intent. I would argue that even a small prayer is somewhat witchy; just thinking about it, you’re communicating with a deity…

Stirring a drink in a certain direction and making a wish is witchcraft. Just as doing big rituals and spells within a coven or solitary.

Take it, because it’s yours!

Look what I made today!

It’s a witch bottle for a happy, protected spring season. I don’t want to give out the entire ritual or ingredients since it’s private, but I felt inspired to share it. And if you’re really skilled, you probably know or can see what I used anyway ;)
