Why I mainly voice my thought to those who are willing to listen

Of course I want to promote my leftist viewpoint!
Why I mainly voice my thought to those who are willing to listen

I would never be in a debate if I didn’t happen to find myself in the middle of one, just like you can do sometimes when life happens. You know, some people, sometimes you barely know them, start to discuss, and suddenly you’re in a moral debate, sometimes without realizing how it even started.

But I would never choose to debate, because I have realized most debaters just want to win and never intend to open up their minds to discussion in the first place.

Sure, you don’t have to have exactly the same political leanings as me to read this podcast. I’m unashamedly left-leaning, and I want to teach you why. So, of course, I welcome anyone, because I want to promote it. However, I wouldn’t debate you on it because at some point, it becomes a battle rather than a discussion. Oftentimes it does. And I’m here for people who are willing to listen, regardless of their leanings.

I used to be close-minded

I used to be anti-feminist. Yes, you heard that right! And now I have matured and grown, and I’m very much a feminist now. More precisely, an intersectional feminist because I believe feminism is broad and should include everyone.

But I didn’t always have the same opinions on abortion, or human rights, or even queer rights, or women’s positions in society, and so on. I was never extreme in my views, but I was uneducated. I’m writing for people who are like I used to be.

I didn’t go to school

Honestly, many of my uneducated opinions were due to educational neglect. I dropped out of high school, and nearly ten years later, I chose to go back to school, to university. That’s when I started to become more educated on what’s actually accurate. I viewed what happened to me in another light and realized I was wrong about so many things, but also that I was wronged and hurt in so many ways.

I don’t say you need to go to college to be a morally good person, or even an intelligent or intellectual person. You can be naturally smart. Or just open up a book and learn things online. There are many ways to educate yourself as well.

This was me as a 16-year-old, and I had really bad ideas, but I also had no real schooling due to educational neglect, and physical/emotional/sexual abuse.

I end by saying this…

… Every open-minded person is valid and is welcome here. I can’t do more than being a resource for people willing to hear me out. But I want to be a resource for those who are willing!

But I’m so done talking to the void. Making my voice heard to people who don’t want to educate themselves. I mean, in today’s age, it’s so easy to do self-education and learn about marginalized groups and what they’re going through. At this point, I have no patience for people who choose to be bigoted.
